Close-Stance Leg Press
Upper legsStrengthBeginnerLeg press

A leg press with the feet set close together, increasing knee flexion and keeping the quadriceps prominent while the back remains supported against the pad.
How to do it
- Set the seat and back pad so your lower back stays supported throughout the repetition.
- Place your feet close together near the middle of the platform, with the toes and knees pointing along the same line.
- Lower the sled by bending the knees and hips while keeping both feet flat and the knees tracking over the toes.
- Press the platform away through the whole foot until the legs are extended without snapping the knees straight.
- Return under control and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips
- Use only as narrow a stance as lets the knees track comfortably over the toes.
- Keep the heels down and avoid letting the knees collapse inward as the sled descends.
- Do not trade pelvic position for depth; stop before the lower back starts to round off the pad.
Muscles
Primary: Quadriceps
Secondary: Glutes (max), Hamstrings
