Upper armsStrengthIntermediateBarbell

A momentum-assisted bicep curl using slight hip drive on the way up and a slow, controlled lowering phase.
How to do it
- Stand holding weight at thigh level with an underhand grip.
- Use a slight hip drive to start the curl.
- Curl the weight up toward your shoulders explosively.
- Lower the weight slowly under control through the full range.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps.
Tips
- Keep the hip drive small so your biceps still do most of the work.
- Avoid leaning back excessively to protect your lower back.
- Keep your elbows close to your torso throughout the curl.
